Sprintcar racing in Victoria continues this Saturday night at Heartland Raceway, Moama when more than 35 Sprintcars will be on hand to contest the tenth round of the SRA Open Sprintcar series along with the third round of the C&H Trucking Pro Sprintcar Series.
While it’s a Victorian run event, the SRA loves crossing the border into southern New South Wales to compete at Heartland Raceway with this being the second visit to the venue this season.
Leading the SRA Open Sprintcar Series will be Rusty Hickman who prevailed earlier this season while Chris Solomon returns to the scene of his memorable victory last season. Hickman’s incredible speed will once again be on display at the wide-open expanses of Heartland Raceway as he will need to be once again at the top of his games if he is to outrun the competition.
Off the back of last weekend’s strong run at Portland, Mount Gambier teen Parker Scott will be looking to continue his form that carried him to a popular runner up finish at Southern 500.
There’s several drivers that will be popular with the fans as the speed and skill of Terry Rankin always draws attention while the presentation of the PJS Motorsport outfit is first class. Rankin is again in the hunt for the series title with three rounds remaining he will be looking for a consistent result.
An exciting addition to the field will be that of Kaidon Brown, once again in the Dickson Motorsport V3. Brown’s prowess in a Speedcar has seen him win numerous events this season while competing across the country. Brown recently locked away an A-main start in the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic from more than 100 entries and will be keen for more Sprintcar experience this Saturday night.
Brenten Farrer returns to Heartland Raceway after spending much of the season in Perth contesting numerous high-profile events. Farrer was in the field earlier this season when Rusty Hickman was victorious in the opening SRA Sprintcar Series round.
Exciting Sydneysider Zac Pacchiarotta is among the mix and is always a welcome addition to the field and will once again be a force following numerous visits south this season with his ultra professional SWF Racing outfit. Series regulars David Aldersley, Andrew Hughes, Kevin Reeves, David Donegan, Dan Scott, David Dennison and young prospect Marcus Green will all be keen for success.
Pro Sprintcar events really build up this time of the season as the Australian title for the division gets closer set to be decided at Avalon Raceway in April.
Saturday nights event at Heartland Raceway will be another strong hit out for the fancied drivers and regular contenders including Jordan Rae, Paul Solomon and Sam Wren.
Other exciting inclusions are current Australian Wingless Sprint champion Todd Hobson while Andy Hibbert, Zac Farrer, Justin Barton and Dennis Jones are more than capable of a great result.
Last season Nigel Laity impressed and will once again be in action, so will former national Formula 500 champion Josh Buckingham plus Thomas McDonald, Steven Loader and Shane Steenholdt will be among a cracking field of Pro Sprintcars.
Others that will be in the mix include Boyd Harris, Ethan Bastian, Jordy Langdon, Kate Searle, Shaun Lyness, Stephen Horton, Ben Morrison, Joe Lostitch and Luke Cole who caps a big night of entrants at Heartland Raceway.
The weather is looking warm and sunny for Saturday night and the team SRA are keen to get back to support the Heartland Raceway team with a solid field across the two Sprintcar Series rounds set to be decided.
