The ‘Ragin Cajun’ Jason Johnson is preparing for a full-scale assault on the 2009/10 World Series Sprintcars Championship with team owner Allan Haynes.
While it represents the first occasion they have teamed up the duo are no strangers to the national tour. Johnson burst onto the WSS scene in 2003/04 pushing eventual winner Max Dumesny all the way to the crown.
The US sensation then became a WSS regular for the Disbury Family Racing outfit with 14 career WSS feature victories but is yet to capture the ultimate prize, painfully finishing runner up on 3 occasions. I’ve had many years on the road with Titan USA and for the most part it’s been an enjoyable experience. Making three feature races out of the six nights during the recently concluded 27th annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek Series were very commendable achievements for Australian Steve Lines.
When you consider how extremely tough the Ohio Sprint Speedweek Series is and also the fact that he was visiting a new track on each of the six nights; Lines’ results were quite impressive.
“It was tough, very tough!” Lines expressed. “When you are racing on foreign tracks, many of which are very daunting places, the main goal is to just get up to speed as quickly as possible without coming to grief. Over the six nights I would be get up to speed pretty quickly, but some tracks it would take a little longer and by the time I would be up to fairly good speed it was a little too late.” ... read more

Brian suffered a heart attack whilst at work in Sacramento on Thursday (USA time). He is survived by his partner Sherri and their daughters April and Courtney.

There have been plenty of positives to draw from South Australian Steve Lines’ opening two race meetings of his 2009 American Sprintcar tour that commenced over the weekend.
Last Friday night (June 12) Lines made his tour debut at Attica Raceway Park (Attica, Ohio). In what was his first ever visit to the Attica Raceway Park, Lines started in the best possible fashion by winning his heat race after he had started from position two. Due to winning his heat race, Lines started the 30-lap feature race from position four and quickly moved into second place. Mid way through the feature race the Attica Raceway Park track went away and it caught Lines, along with plenty of other teams, out setup wise and he feel back down the order and finished in 14th place. ... read more
