Peacock Excited for Classic Debut
Author : Redline Media
The 2018-19 season is about to get a whole lot more exciting for Jayden Peacock, with the young 410 Sprintcar racer on the cusp of participating in his maiden Grand Annual Classic with the PJS Motorsport team.
Entering into an agreement earlier this season with PJS Motorsport owners Phil and Sharon Seymour, from Geelong in Victoria, to contest what is considered the most prestigious event in Australian speedway aboard their second car – the VA # 29 Arbon Equipment PTY Limited / HME Group supported XXX, Peacock couldn’t be more excited to tick the event off his bucket list.
Having had the perfect opportunity to get his eye in, so to speak, at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway in Victoria prior to the Grand Annual Classic, the Redcliffe, Queensland-based driver won’t be flying blind when he visits the venue this weekend.
Experiencing an encouraging run during the recent two World Series Sprintcar Championship Speedweek rounds at the track, Peacock was able to build on his initial 13th-place B main finish in the third series round to come home seventh in the B main during round five.
“To say that I’m excited to contest my Grand Annual Classic honestly doesn’t even cut it,” enthused Peacock.
“This is without a doubt the country’s biggest speedway race and I can’t thank Phil and Sharon, along with the rest of the PJS Motorsport team, enough for making this a reality for me.
“The Grand Annual Classic is going to be tough and I’m very realistic about what we hope to achieve. I had some strong speed during the recent World Series Championship rounds at Premier Speedway, so I’m hoping to improve on that by qualifying into the feature race on the Sunday night.”
In the lead up to the Grand Annual Classic, where he will be participating in qualifying night one on the Friday night, Peacock will also be contesting this Wednesday night’s President’s Cup, which is set to take place at PJS Motorsport’s home track: Avalon Raceway.
