2016 Season Continues for Northline Speedway
Author : Redline Media
Six classes are set to deliver another big night of racing at Darwin’s Roller Door Services NT Northline Speedway this Saturday night.
Last meeting’s unfortunate rain-out of the Open Sprintcars feature race left highest point scorers Steven Ling and Simon Spitzbarth unable to battle it out for the overall victory, after each picking up a heat-race win earlier in the night. They will be eager to mirror their previous performances and will hope for a chance to capitalise on them in the feature race.
Troy David, David Ling, Keith Phelps and rookie Chris Harrison will also be looking to contend for front-running spots.
After his recent strong performance in the Formula 500s which saw him come away with the feature-race win, John Staynoff will attempt to go back-to-back at Roller Door Services NT
Northline Speedway, while current NT Champion Hayden Brown will be looking to make amends. A retirement in the early stages of the feature race left Brown unable to challenge Staynoff for the lead, a situation he will attempt to remedy this time around.
Boysie Bartholdt and Cori Jackson will also be amongst the action, with both drivers again looking to secure a place on the podium. Other nominations include Scott Leonhardt, Richard Cross, Ellie Hills, Daniel White, veteran Gavin Jaenke and Joseph Baronet.
In the AMCA Nationals, in-form driver Brendan Kenna will get another chance to chase the victory, after being unable to start the feature race at the previous meeting. Off the back of his recent Roller Door Services NT Northline Speedway win, Dale Roberts will be a hot favourite heading into the event, with Jim Keane and Jacob Belcher hot on his heels.
Dave Munro, Janet Belcher, Maria Panasewyecz and Jeffery Tiedeman will round out the field. The dominant Justin Brumfield will be hoping to repeat his recent flawless drive in Street Stocks, which saw him win the feature race by a significant margin, as well as all three heat races. Brendan Davison and Colin Menzies will return to take the fight to the current NT Champion, in the hopes of improving on their previous third and fourth-place finishes, while Raymond Davis and Dean Jones will attempt to curb their chances.
Junior Sedans will see front-runners Isaiah Strong and Nicholas Dennis return, with Dennis hoping to go one better on Strong, after finishing in second-place behind him previously.
Nathan Downs, Zack Grimshaw, Daniel Dennis, Aleisha Grimshaw, Brodee Everett, Lance Carew and Lindsay Allwright will all be hoping to rise to the occasion and challenge the leaders for a strong finish.
Speedway Karts racer Nick Belfield will duke it out again with Darren Uniacke and Steve Driver, with the latter two racers hoping to get the jump on the previous meeting’s winner.
Also returning to hinder Belfield’s chances will be Tim fry, Kirsty Driver, Yazmin Brown, Alison Fry, Tony Brown and Tristan Roulston.
