MASSIVE FIELD ENTERED FOR SEASON OPENER
Author : SANSW Media
It is promising to be one of the most explosive season openers in years as fifty-eight drivers will battle it out for the honour of being the first ever driver to win a round of the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship NSW.
The field, literally bursting with Sprintcar talent, is led by 2014/15 Sprintcar Track Champion James Thompson who will look to open up his local season with a win. He won’t have it all his own way however with the likes of USC QLD winners to date Robbie Farr and Steven lines along with James McFadden, Ben Atkinson, Toby Bellbowen, Sam Walsh and a host of others ready for battle.
One can’t forget the winner of the Brian Healey Cup at the beginning of last season, Jamie Veal. The Victorian went on to dominate the opening three rounds of last year’s track championship and become the first Victorian ever to win three main events in a row at Valvoline Raceway.
This season’s USC has been gaining plenty of popularity during the winter and there is plenty of expectation that it will prove very popular with both drivers and fans. The Chase, which is held during the months of March and April will see one driver crowned the Ultimate Sprintcar Champion.
To date, Robbie Farr, Steven Lines, Queenslander Peter Lack and young Sydneysider Toby Bellbowen have all qualified for the chase as a result of the opening two rounds of the USC Queensland. Who will qualify on Saturday night?
Racing will kick off with time trials at around 6pm on Saturday. From there, drivers will compete in heats and the C, B and A-Mains.
The Sprintcar Association of NSW will have regular updates throughout the night, along with a recap post event. Make sure you stay connected via Facebook. Simply search for Sprintcar Association of NSW. Also don’t forget to visit the website www.sprintcarsnsw.com
