GOODYER TO SUB FOR SALLER MOTORSPORT

JOCK Goodyer is currently one of Australia’s top 410 Sprintcar racers, and for this Saturday night’s reopening of Sydney International Speedway, he will step away from his family- owned operation to join the Saller Motorsport team for a cameo appearance.

In what is a major boost for this Saturday night’s return of the Sydney International Speedway track, formerly known as Eastern Creek Speedway, the 23-year-old from Launceston in Tasmania will step into the NSW # 56 KRGS / Mega Cash supported Triple X
car normally campaign by Michael Saller, who is unable to compete due to a prior agreement.

“I’m very excited to have Jock join our team, as it’s not only great to have a driver talent like him step into one of our cars, but a massive boost for the track promotion and the Sydney race fans to have one of the country’s best Sprintcar drivers running at the track’s
reopening,” commented Saller Motorsport team owner Mark Saller.

“Jock and our family have known each other for quite a long time, in fact, he was only hanging out with Michael (Saller) at his house recently during one of his rare weekends off, so when it was known that Michael was unavailable to drive at the Sydney track’s
reopening, I got on the phone and asked Jock if he’d like to run our car, and he was quick to say yes.”

Just like the Saller Motorsport team, Goodyer, who has so far this season amassed a total of 14 feature-race wins, is looking forward to stepping into the NSW # 56 KRGS / Mega Cash supported Triple X car for this one-off appearance.

“The Saller Motorsport team run a first-class operation, so when Mark (Saller) called me up and asked if I wanted to drive for them, it didn’t take too much convincing for me to agree, and I’m very thankful for this wonderful opportunity and our goals for the night are to have
some fun and see what we can achieve together out on the track,” enthused Goodyer, who has competed at Sydney International Speedway on three previous occasions, with a best result of a third-place finish in the 2023 NSW Title.

“The Sprintcar racing scene in Sydney has been going through a very tough time over the past five years, so I’m looking forward to getting back there with the new promotional team, as they look to have made a number of promising track improvements, which will hopefully ead to better overall racing, and here’s to hoping this is the start of a new positive era for Sprintcar racing in Sydney.”
