EUREKA! DALY DOES IT!

FOR nearly 30 years, the Eureka Garages & Sheds Series has been the premier series for Sprintcars within the state of Victoria, and Bobby Daly has recently become the latest driver to add his name to the winner’s list after he took out the 2023-24 season version.

After seven seasons of competing in the Eureka Series, Daly has enjoyed a season of highs in his 2023-24 campaign that has been topped by becoming the 2023-24 season Eureka Series Champion.

“To be able to take out the Eureka Series is a huge honour and a great reward for all of the efforts from the team and I have put in throughout the season,” expressed the 29-year-old from Morwell in Victoria, whose previous best Eureka Series points finish was a second
behind Corey McCullagh in the 2019-20 season.

“Heading into the season, the team and I didn’t set out to chase the Eureka Series, as the plan was to get to the Christmas-New Year period and then go from there, so when we had taken control of the Eureka Series lead by that time our goal shifted to trying to wrap up the series, and that’s exactly what we managed to do.”

Looking back on his 2023-24 season campaign, Daly proved to be the most consistent throughout the Eureka Series and his highlight result was when he took out his first 410 Sprintcar feature race victory during the ninth round at Portland’s Southern 500 Speedway earlier this year.

“Being able to pick up my first 410 Sprintcar win was a big thrill for the team and I, as we have been close on a few occasions over the years with minor podium finishes, so it was great to finally get the monkey off the back,” the driver of the Vic # 8 Transall Motors /
Industrial Metal Recyclers supported KRE Race Engines prepared 410-powered Triple X car commented.

“The Eureka Series has always been very competitive, and this season was certainly no different, and when you are able to put together a good night and come away with the win, it’s very rewarding, as you know you, along with the rest of the team, have had to work really hard to make it happen.”

Apart from his maiden Eureka Series round win, other strong performances from Daly’s Eureka Series campaign were scoring a third-place finish in the opening round (Heartland Raceway) and then a pair of top-five finishes at rounds seven and 11 (Simpson Speedway
and Avalon Raceway). Daly during the season away from Eureka Series competition picked up top-10 finishes in Max’s Race at Premier Speedway and the Victorian Title at Simpson Speedway.

The final 2023-24 season outing for Daly and his team will be at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway on Good Friday (March 29) for the opening Easter Trail Series round.

So…when it comes to Daly and the team’s plans for the 2024-25 season? “I’m not too sure what the plans are for next season, but we will be back out there again,” he replied.

“At the moment, the focus is to just enjoy our successful season, and then we will get back into the shed to work on the car during the off season and work out a plan from there.”
