THIS TIME?
Author : Sprintcars Australia.

In 2019 the Australian Sprintcar Championship was held at Archerfield Speedway.

Hopes were high for a Queensland driver victory with a wide range of potential candidates.

The spotlight and burden of expectation burned white-hot on Luke Oldfield’s shoulders in particular however.

It was not ideal timing for him though.

It was an emotional time for him personally and whilst the situation will always weigh heavy on his heart the three years that have passed since then will give Luke the clarity of mind he needs whilst still channelling the desire.

So is this the time?
Time for Luke Oldfield to change the #17 to the #1?
Many would argue it is.

Always lightning fast around Archerfield and never afraid to rip it right in and charge to the front.

He’s got the experience, the speed, the confidence and the hot rod to get it done this time.

He watched fellow Queenslander Andrew Scheuerle drink in the goodness of Aussie title champagne in 2019.

Those memories will no doubt motivate Oldfield if he even needs that reminder.

Luke Oldfield is far better mentally prepared, far better race prepped and no doubt fast enough to handle the pressure this time around.

The 59th running of the Titan Garages and Sheds SCCA Australian Sprintcar Championship is scheduled for Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1, 2022 at Archerfield Speedway Queensland.
