Murray Bridge racer Ryan Jones captured his 32nd career Sprintcar A-Main victory and his first of his career at the Sunline Speedway last night in round 9 of the Mainline Dynalog Dynamometers Allstars Sprintcar Series. Driving the Scott Perrett owned #98 Triple X, Jones started the 30 lap final from position four and drove to the front making the pass for the lead on Mark Caruso on lap 8. From that point he was never headed winning the race comfortably ahead of Jarman Dalitz, who recorded his career best Allstars result, and Mark Caruso.

Fourth across the line in the marathon event, that was red flagged on lap 9 while the ambulance was required in the pit area, was Steven Caruso with James Wren being the first Victorian completing the top 5.

Teenager Ben Morris was sixth, but the result could have been a whole lot better as he spun in turn 1 on lap 13 while pressing Steven Caruso hard for a possible podium result. Jamie Hendry, Northern Territorian Jamie McInnes and South Australian Champion Dan Evans completed the finishers.

Evans would finish the race four laps down after his left rear tyre deflated while running second. Luckily the open red allowed Evans to change the tyre and continue albeit four laps down.

It was a tough night for series leader Michael Tancredi who damaged his engine just four laps into the main event while running inside the top five.

Earlier Mark Caruso picked up his fourth Oval Express Magazine quick time award of the season with a lap of 13.469 while the four heats went the way of Mark Caruso, Dan Evans, Michael Tancredi and Ryan Jones.
