After many years of speedway racing, Shaun Dobson has announced that he is taking a break away from the sport.

“I would like to announce that I’ve made the decision to have a break from Sprintcar racing – effective immediately,” the 25-year-old from Hobart, Tasmania stated.

“After many non-stop years of racing around the country, I feel that I need some time off, so that I can reignite my passion for the sport. This certainly hasn’t been a decision that has been made lightly. Thank you for everyone’s ongoing support, the team and I are incredibly appreciative.”

Dobson and the team would like to thank everyone – from past car owners, officials, promoters, sponsors, pit crew, family and friends, and of course the race fans – for their wonderful support.

“I hope my break isn’t too long, and I can make a return sooner rather than later,” he concluded.
