Caruana Excited for American Return

The World of Outlaws is without a shadow of a doubt the toughest Sprintcar competition on the planet, and Australian driver Andy Caruana is set to make his return to America later this year and plans to tackle the WoO competition.

Competing in nine nights of WoO competition at six different race tracks, Caruana and the team will fly to America in August and spend a few weeks getting things organised and to prepare the car and trailer for racing before hitting the road for the first WoO stop on the trip, Skagit Speedway, Washington.

Caruana is no stranger to racing in America, having previously contested the tough Ohio Speedweek Series in 2016 which incorporates nine nights of racing in a row and Caruana will be calling on that experience as he faces not only the best from the WoO stage but also the tough west coast-based racers.

The preparation for the tour has already begun in earnest with Caruana busy stripping down his engine after competing in final two Eureka Garages & Sheds Series rounds along with two rounds of the Easter Trail towards the end of the season. The plan is to ship that engine over to accompany the engine he already has over in America. The team is also sorted for a transporter after purchasing one during their previous American tour two years ago.

In terms of inventory at his disposal while racing in America, it’s fair to say Caruana is well and truly prepared, running a Triple X Chassis and Shark Racing Engines combination in what’s hoped to be a competitive tour.

“I’m really looking forward to getting over there and having a lot of fun,” enthused the 27-year-old racer from Melbourne in Victoria, who has only competed sporadically in the last two seasons, due to family and business commitments.

“I think a lot of the tracks on the west coast are very similar to the ones we have here in Australia, so we should be able to adapt to them, and then hopefully we can be competitive and learn a lot up against some of the world’s best racers.”

Caruana would like to thank his valued sponsors for their ongoing support:
