The annual Krikke Boys Shootout at the Quit Bunbury Speedway last weekend produced some highs and lows for the J&S Drilling #60 Sprintcar team.
Saturday night action kicked off with the Time Trial and saw team driver Kaiden Manders produce a 13.474 second circulation - a mere 0.166 of a second slower than the best lap time - which saw him fourth fastest in the 25 car field.
He started on the front row in his first heat race but a tangle on the opening lap saw him sidelined with front end damage.
Manders returned for his second heat in which he started from position seven and crossed the line eighth.
This meant he came out of position 12 in the Preliminary Main event.
Manders gained a couple of places but around lap 9 several cars crashed in front of him and he was unable to avoid them.
The J&S Drilling Team returned the following night for the finale of the 21st annual Krikke Boys Shootout classic.
Another heat race was programmed and Manders was able to keep out in front and score the win - keeping at bay the four times World Series Champion and dual Australian titleholder James McFadden.
Next up was the Mid Pack Dash that would decide the order of drivers in the main event from 11th back.
Manders started fourth and came home third.
He lined up 13th in the 35-lap Main Event and was able to keep out of trouble and finish eighth.
Next up the team will contest the Australian 360 Sprintcar Championship at the Perth Motorplex on March 17 and 18.
