MOLLENOYUX AND COWARA/JAK CIVIL TEAM IMPRESS AT BUNBURY
Author : Ken Brown

Darren Mollenoyux and the Cowara/Jak Civil #41 Sprintcar team turned in an impressive performance over the two nights of the annual Krikke Boys Shootout at the Quit Bunbury Speedway last weekend.
A week after finishing seventh overall in the World Series Sprintcars competition - with rounds right across the nation in his own car - Victorian star Mollenoyux strapped himself into the Cowara/Jak Civil #41 machine for the 21st running of the Krikke Boys Shootout.
Twenty-five cars ran against the clock in Saturday's Qualifying session with Mollenoyux recording a very fast 13.354 second lap to finish second.
This result gave him a front row start in his first heat race and he crossed the line in second place.
Next time out he started eighth and finished sixth.
Mollenoyux came out of position five in the Preliminary Main Event and worked his way up to third at the flag.
After the first night of competition he was equal second in the pointscore.
On Sunday he crossed the line fifth in his heat race.
Next the Top 10 pointscorers contested a series of match races - known as a Pole Shuffle - to determine the starting positions for the 35-lap Main Event.
Mollenoyux came out in Pole Shuffle #7 but was beaten by former two-times Australian Champion David Murcott.
He started from position three in the feature event, but fell back through the field to come home tenth.
Overall though it was a fine performance in a star-studded field and the whole Cowara/Jak Civil team can be very proud of their achievements over the 2017-18 season.

Sincere thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors for their continued support:-
