A strong field of cars have nominated for this Saturday nights ‘Spud’ Show with entries from N.S.W, N.T, SA and Victoria with all the 360 hot shots wanting to be a part of this emotionally charged event.

“With the disappointment of a washout last year all the teams are keen to get a result this year. $3000 is on the line for winner and the honour of winning this very special memorial race. Tyson died at the age 30 and our feature is 31 laps, his age plus one for his memory. But his show isn’t about the money; it’s about holding a tribute to a good mate that is no longer with us.” Series Promoter Mandy Searle said.

SA22 Chad Ely was close mates with Tyson and will be there to be part of the night. Ely has been on the dais many times for this event and a win has been on his ‘bucket list ‘since the race was introduced but he hasn’t just quite managed it.

Tony Bartlett has a history of winning this show as a car owner in the past and teamed up with a new driver for this season in Michael Tancredi’s V29, the team certainly has another good chance in repeating it. TB knew Tyson for many years and the show is extra special for him. Chris Solomon was the inaugural winner of the show back in 2011 and was also good mates with Tyson. He would dearly love to take out the honours again.

Competition will be hard and fast with V7 Paul Solomon, V34 Brenten Farrer, SA44 Dan Evans, SA33 Mark Caruso, SA69 Cody Atkins, SA27 Daniel Pestka, NT 26 Tony Moule just to name a few of the stars rolling out for the event .

Be a part of this very special event. The emotion is sure to be raw and the racing fast. Borderline Speedway, Mount Gambier Saturday night 24th February. On track action starts at 5.00.
