Cowara/JAK Civil Sprintcar team owner Steve Duggan is pleased with his trip over east to contest the major events on the Australian calendar.
Leading Victorian driver Darren Mollenoyux joined the #41 Cowara/JAK Civil team for the fortnight and performed well up against the strongest fields in the country.
"Overall it was a very successful trip," said Duggan. "We did a lot of miles but we had a lot of fun. And just like in his debut run with the team at the Perth Motorplex back in December, Darren showed he is a very capable driver."
First stop for the team was the annual President's Cup meeting at the Avalon Raceway (Victoria) on January 17.

Qualifying - 17th (48 cars)
Heat - started 4th, finished 3rd
A Main - started 11th, finished 13th

January 18 - King's Challenge - Mount Gambier (South Australia)
Qualifying - 16th (58 cars)
Heat - started 8th, finished 7th
B Main - started 8th, finished 4th
A Main - started 18th (last), finished 13th

January 20 - Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic - Warrnambool (Victoria)
Qualifying - 1st - 10.621 seconds (27 cars)
Heat 1 - started 1st, finished 1st
Heat 2 - started 8th (last), finished 6th
A Main - (washed out - run at 4pm on January 21)
A Main - started 7th, finished 8th

January 21 - GAC - Warrnambool - Final Night
Heat - started 6th, finished 4th
A Main (40 laps) - started 11th, finished 8th

January 25 - Australian Sprintcar Championship - Mount Gambier (South Australia)
Qualifying - 1st - 10.813 seconds (38 cars)
Heat 1 - started 7th, finished 5th
Heat 2 - started 2nd, finished 1st
A Main - started 4th, finished 8th
(4th in points after night #1)

January 27 - Australian Sprintcar Championship - Mount Gambier (South Australia)
Heat - started 6th, finished 4th
A Main (40 laps) - started 8th, finished 5th

The Cowara/JAK Civil team had their worst result at the opening night at the Avalon circuit.
Qualifying results were very good - and to finish 8th in the Grand Annual Classic (against 100 + cars including many Americans) and 5th in the Australian Championship (around 80 cars) were both very impressive results.
Darren Mollenoyux continues driving his own Victorian #52 car in the World Series Sprintcars competition this weekend in Tasmania - currently 9th in the pointscore.
Steve Duggan will assist him with some sponsorship.
World Series Sprintcars concludes here in Western Australia in late February.
Mollenoyux and the Cowara/JAK Civil Team will link up again for the annual Krikke Boys Shootout at the Quit Bunbury Speedway on March 3 & 4.
