Round #5 of the 2017-18 AHG Sprintcar Series is now in the record books.
The 55th running of the WA Sprintcar Championship at Perth Motorplex last Saturday night saw Victorian star Jamie Veal take the title honours in his first
drive of the summer in the Krikke Motorsport #2 hotrod.
Twenty-year old Kaiden Manders finished a gallant second after setting the pace for most of the 30-lap journey, only to tire when it counted most.
Consistent runner Carl Dowling was third across the line.
The state title tilt was round #302 of the AHG Series which kicked off in the 2000-01 season at Bunbury.
Jason Pryde - who finished fourth in the WA title - still leads the series pointscore.
However he will miss the next few rounds as he is contesting the World Series Sprintcars competition - along with ninth placed Daniel Harding and 14th placed Mitchell Wormall.
Kaiden Manders - now 15th - will be away racing in Brisbane when the AHG Sprintcar Series continues on Boxing Day.
