MANDERS WINS WA 360 SPRINTCAR CHAMPIONSHIP

Kaiden Manders outclassed a strong field to annex the WA 360 Sprintcar Championship at the Manjimup Speedway last Saturday.
It was a dominant performance by the 20-year-old Manders and the whole J&S Drilling Team.
The Hot Lap session was a sign of things to come with young Manders setting the fastest time of 15.031 seconds.
It was a similar story in the Time Trial with Mander's 14.512 second circulation the fastest on the night - 2/10ths of a second better than the next competitor in the 18 car field.
Courtesy of his Fast Time effort, Manders started his first heat from the pole position and maintained his advantage throughout the 8-lap event.
He finished 3.7 seconds ahead of the second placed driver with a fast lap of 14.532 seconds.
Manders started from position 6 in his next heat and moved up to finish third.
He was second home in the Pole dash and started from that spot in the 25-lap Main Event.
Adrian Haywood set the pace in the first half of the feature with Manders close behind him.
With around 10 laps to go, Manders made his move and took over the lead.
He kept in front right up to the flag, finishing 1.81 seconds ahead of Haywood, and clocking the fastest time (14.643 seconds) in the race.
Manders had this to say after his title victory - "The car was fast straight out of the trailer and the crew did a really good job to keep on top of it on a very challenging track. The pin fell out of the Jacobs ladder half way through the feature which made the car a bit of a handful! Luckily we still had enough speed to get the job done and I can’t thank everyone that helped us throughout the night. It was awesome fun!"
Next up the J&S Drilling Team will contest the WA Open (410 cu.in.) Sprintcar Championship at Perth Motorplex this Saturday evening.

The J&S Drilling W60 team wish to acknowledge the support of their loyal sponsors who enable us to keep on racing.
