Last Saturday evening (September 23) Jake Tranter, and his Jake Tranter Motorsport Team, made their debut appearance of the 2017/18 season as he participated at the final pre-season practice session at Murray Bridge Speedway. Tranter was one of nine local drivers who were keen to get their season under way and he looked very impressive throughout the night in his #45 East Coast Logistics Maxim.

Along with taking the opportunity to debut his striking new black, blue and green livery, it was also a great chance to work with a whole new crew prior to the official season opener. The team, which is entirely made up young Dirt Kart competitors, is led by rookie Crew Chief and Formula 500 racer Hayden Kendrick, with Zac Thomson and Hamish Cox also assisting on the spanners.

“I was ecstatic to be back in the seat after such a long off season. It was a good start to get some laps in and get a feel for the car. I can’t thank everyone enough who have helped me get prepared for the 2017/18 season. We are all excited to see what the season brings” added Jake following his run last Saturday night.

Due to the Sprintcars being a late addition to the program this Saturday night Jake will be unable to attend the hot lap session this weekend but the team will be back at Murray Bridge on October 7 to contest the Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge, an event that will double as the opening round of the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship SA. The “Wigzell Race” will kick off a 30 plus night schedule across South Australia and Victoria which will take in tracks including Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier, Warrnambool and Avalon.

Tranter Family Racing would like to thank the following corporate partners for their support of the 2017/18 Sprintcar season: East Coast Logistics, Lake City Taxis, Sunnyside Instant Lawn, U Need Towing, MT Tiling, Naracoorte Freight Centre, Transman Solutions, Phil Michell Motorsport Media.
