Another Atkinson Podium In Top End

Ben Atkinson and the #41 JAK Civil/Cowara Motorsports Team have finished last weekend's double header in Darwin with a third and a fifth to their credit.
Friday night at the Northline Speedway saw Atkinson start his first heat race in third position and drop down to sixth.
In his second outing he came out of position eight, then dropped back a spot before moving up to finish seventh.
Not quite the results the team were looking for - with Atkinson starting from position 13 in the 30-lap "Defend the Top End" feature race.
He moved up to eighth in the 20 car field, then dropped back a few spots.
In the latter stages of the event Atkinson climbed back through the field to cross the line in fifth place.
On Saturday evening he started from position two in his opening 10-lap heat race.
Atkinson raced straight into the lead and was never headed - finishing almost two seconds ahead of his nearest rival.
In his next heat Atkinson came from position 10 and crossed the line sixth.
This meant that he would start from position five in the 30-lap main event.
Atkinson quickly moved up to fourth, and took over third position around lap 20.
He maintained this spot until the chequered flag in a fine performance in a top notch field.
The final weekend of the Chariots of Thunder series takes place his coming weekend, with meetings on both Friday and Saturday.
