Steve Duggan and the #41 JAK Civil/Cowara Motorsport Team are pleased to announce that they will be contesting the entire Chariots of Thunder series at the Northline Speedway in Darwin.
Team owner Duggan heads off tomorrow (Saturday) with the transporter and will be ready for the first night of racing on Saturday August 12.
This will be the opening round of the Chariots of Thunder Series and also the Make-A-Wish Cup.
Action continues the following weekend - over two nights on August 18 & 19 with the Defend the Top End and Pope 65 meetings.
The Series concludes on August 25 & 26 with the Northern Territory Sprintcar Championship.
The #41 projectile will be piloted by top rated driver Ben Atkinson, who has already won a feature race in Darwin this season.
Steve Duggan is looking forward to the experience - "I have taken a car up to Darwin a few times in the past and have always had a lot of success and some fun. I'm happy Benny is available to drive the car while the transporter is parked up there. We will just be doing the Chariot Series with Benny and reassess what we are doing for our 2017-18 season when we return home."
Likewise Atkinson is thrilled to be joining the JAK Civil/Cowara Motorsport Team.
"I have to thank Steve and his team for giving me this opportunity to drive their car. I'm looking forward to working with Steve, (crew chief) Keith (Giles) and the team. They always have nice equipment."
The Chariots of Thunder Series is the highlight of the Northline Speedway season and this time around has attracted arguably the best field in its entire history.
