MANDERS CLEANS UP IN POWER SERIES
Author : By Ken Brown

Nineteen year old Kaiden Manders has won the 2016-17 edition of the 360 Sprintcar Power Series in dominant fashion.
Manders notched three wins, four second placings, plus won more heat races than any other competitor in the 10-round series.
The W60 J&S Drilling Team driver finished a mammoth 345 points ahead of his nearest rival - even though he tangled with a lapped car while leading the series finale at Albany and was forced infield with a flat tyre.
Manders' victory margin was by far the biggest in the six season history of the 360 Sprintcar Power Series.
In the inaugural contest (2011-12) a solitary point separated the winner Jodi Waldron and runner-up Cale Sotiroff.
The biggest previous points difference was 48 in the 2013-14 series between Dean Terry and Chris Ackland.
Manders' W60 projectile was spannered by long serving crew chief Keith Giles and hardly missed a beat all season long.
What is quite remarkabnle is that it was Manders' first full season of Sprintcar competition.
He drove a handful of meetings for the J&S Drilling Team a year ago after previously making his name in Karting and Speedcar competition.
