Madsen and Watsons back together for the WSS final

This weekend’s final round of the World Series Sprintcars at the Perth Motorplex sees the return of Ian Madsen behind the wheel of the number 66 Watsons Racing machine he has successfully raced throughout the summer season on the East Coast.

Madsen has just flown in from the United States after locking in his USA summer campaign and he is pumped for the weekends show.

“It’s been such a great summer working with Rib and the boys on the east coast we have had some good success and hopefully this weekend we can do Rob and Sandra Watson proud”. Said Ian Madsen.

This will be the first outing for the team on the west coast this year in the 410 division with the only outing on the west coast this year being with Rib in the 360 car.

“We have run a completely different strategy this season with Rib living in Sydney and the big racing being on the East coast, it was something we wanted to try (team based in Sydney) and its by far been the most successful summer season we have had. With Ian behind the wheel and Rib, Clint and Dwayne all working together and even better has been the fact it has all been done without any big name and overpriced crew chief.

Madsen will again be racing against the best in Australia which will see someone crowned the World Series Champion and whilst Madsen isn’t in the running for the series win he is certainly chasing the round win.

“We certainly want the round win, we know this isn’t an easy track to win on especially with the calibre of race car drivers here this weekend. We will continue the same game plan as we have done all season and hopefully it will work out for us”

Once this weekend is over Madsen heads back to the states to start his USA assault and the Watson Team will gear up for the 360 Sprintcar national title to be held at the Perth Motorplex later in the season with Rib Watson behind the wheel.
