Short Night For Gessner

After three successive victories at the Quit Bunbury Speedway this summer the #41 JAK CIVIL Sprintcar Team were looking for another good run at the World Series Sprintcar round last Saturday.
The night started off quite well with team driver Cameron Gessner clocking a 13.562 second lap in the time trial, making him the eighth fastest in the 19 strong field.
This meant that he would start from position 6 in his first heat race.
However while jockeying for position on the opening lap, contact was made and the #41 JAK CIVIL car crashed heavily in a multi car pileup.
Back in the pits the damage was assessed and it was found that the shock tower on the right hand side had been torn out of the frame.
The crew decided that it would be better to park the car and repair it properly during the week.
It was hardly the result the team wanted, but as the old saying goes - that's Speedway.
This coming weekend the #41 JAK CIVIL Sprintcar Team will contest the Grand Final of World Series Sprintcars at the Perth Motorplex on Friday February 24 and Saturday February 25.
Both nights will also be rounds of the season long AHG Sprintcar Series for the local drivers.
