Campbell Returns for Scott Darley Challenge

After spending the Christmas-New Year period on the sidelines, Darryl Campbell is looking forward to returning to the track at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway for the annual Scott Darley Challenge this Friday and Saturday night.

As a former rival of Darley’s in firstly Litre Sprintcars and then later 410 Sprintcars, along with being a mate, the Scott Darley Challenge is an event that’s close to his heart.

“I look forward to being part of the Scott Darley Challenge every season, as it’s the sport’s way to honour his memory by going out and doing something he loved,” commented Campbell, whose fondest memory of Darley was away from the track with their regular
squash games and cheese pizza nights.

“This event is very special everyone in the sport, especially the Darley and Loudoun families, and I can’t wait to get out there and attempt to come away with a solid result.”

So far in the 2016-17 season, Campbell, aboard the NSW # 28 Eagle Silicone Ignition Leads / Rentfleet backed Cool car, has endured a mix run of performances, but he is hoping that a strong result amongst the massive 95-car field at the Scott Darley Challenge can be the start
of a strong and consistent rest of the season.

“The team and I have shown plenty of speed this season, but we just haven’t had the results to show for it,” he admitted. “The plan for the rest of the season is to focus our attention of the remaining race meetings at Valvoline Raceway, and it’s a very exciting time this month with the Scott Darley Challenge and then the Australian Championship.”

Campbell would like to thank Eagle Silicon Ignition Leads, Rentfleet, and Oxytech Powder Coatings for all of their 2016-17 season support.
