After knocking on the door for the past few weeks Brenten Farrer finally broke through for his first 360ci Sprintcar All-stars main event win of the 2016/17 season as he claimed round 5 at the Heartland Raceway at Moama after a late race pass for the lead. Last weekend’s win was his second career All-stars victory and his second at the Moama venue and it came on the back of three runner-up results in his last four starts. In an added bonus for the Kilmore based racer the victory catapulted the defending series champion into the overall series lead with six rounds remaining.

“Overall we had a really good night. We timed ok better than we had been at the previous rounds. The track was a little tricky and I couldn't quite get a hold of it until feature race time” added Brenten following the feature event.

The night started off with Brenten setting the sixth fastest time in the 24-car field before finishing third and fifth in his two heat races. These results were enough to qualify the driver of the #34 Frijtek Industrial Refrigeration ART for the top six pole shuffle before ultimately being knocked out by former Australian Champion Tony Moule, therefore he started the 30 lap A-Main from position six.

“In the main we got a great start only taking 5 or so laps to pass Dan (Evans) and Chris (Soloman). Once I cleared Chris we were able to race to the back of Brayden Parr and Trigga (Gates) before the caution came out. But restart after restart Trigga was able to pull a handy lead over Parr so once I cleared the #77 I had the elbows up and set out after Trigga but he was rolling. I ran the top all feature, I had clear air and I felt really comfy up there. To win was a massive weight of my shoulders. I was stoked for the boys that put so much time and effort in to make my job easy” added Brenten in an appreciative manner.

With the All-stars taking a break Brenten will now turn his attention to the Victorian 360ci Title this weekend at Hamilton’s Western Speedway where he will be hoping to repeat his latest performance. Last Summer Brenten finished second in the State Title at the Avalon Raceway.

“Hopefully we can get it done this weekend. We have been having a good run so let’s hope that continues. I have won the Gold Cup at Hamilton before so it is a track I know well” added Brenten.
