Freeman Returns to the Fold

Teaming up with car owner and good friend Grahame Allard after five seasons on the sidelines, Paul Freeman has made a return to Sprintcar racing in the 2016-17 season, and he’s loving every minute of it.

The ex-Litre Sprintcar racer has contested two race meetings so far this season aboard the ex-Jason Sides GF1 car, which is powered by an ex-Blake Skipper 410 Chev engine, and he is looking forward to once again taking to the track this Saturday night at his home track: Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway.

“I’m feeling really good about being back behind the wheel of a Sprintcar,” commented the NSW # 84 Lingmo International Voice to Voice Communications / Feenstra Painting & Decorating supported GFI driver.

“We’re just doing the races we can at this stage, so there’s no pressure. It’s all about trying to be competitive, while at the same time enjoying time with mates doing something that we all love.”

Following the tragic passing of his brother in law Scott Darley in October, 2008, Freeman stepped into 410 Sprintcars and went on to show promise when he ran his full season, being named NSW Rookie of the Year in the 2009-10 season; however, he decided not to continue in the class, only making select cameo speedway racing appearances in the Litre Sprintcars class during his five-year hiatus from regular competition.

Freeman’s next appearance at Valvoline Raceway is going to be for this Saturday night’s sixth Ultimate Sprintcar Championship NSW round and he will then return to the track on the Saturday night of December 10 for round seven. Taking a break over the Christmas-New Year period to rebuild the team’s engine, Freeman will then return early in the New Year to contest the Scott Darley Challenge at Valvoline Raceway on the Friday and Saturday night of January 13 and 14.

Freeman would like to thank the entire Allard Team Motorsport, along with the team’s sponsors, Lingmo International Voice to Voice Communications and Feenstra Painting & Decorating, for all of their valued 2016-17 season support.
