Spending his weekend racing with the National Sprint League and the World of Outlaws, Ian Madsen’s weekend would be highlighted with an 11th place finish on Saturday night in Cameron, MO.

“We had been running pretty strong as of late, so we were hoping to have a better showing with the World of Outlaws, but we still ended up with an okay weekend,” Ian Madsen said.

Taking to the high-banked US 36 Raceway on Saturday night, Madsen would time the Logan Contractors Supply Inc./Aspen Aire/Kline Electric No. 18 machine in 13th quickest on a very tricky surface.

On a hooked up a rough US 36 Raceway, Madsen would line up in the third row of his heat race where he would finish in the sixth spot and transfer directly into the 35-lap feature event.

Lining up in the 16th spot for the feature, Madsen proved to be one of few drivers who were able to move forward on the physically demanding track. Though driving a careful race as he worked around some ruts and holes, Madsen would pick up five positions and take the checkered flag with an 11th place finish.

Friday night, Madsen and company were also in action at the Clay County Fairgrounds. Taking on both the World of Outlaws and the NSL, Madsen would time in 16th fastest in time trials.

Finishing in the fifth and final transfer spot in his heat race, the St. Marys, NSW native would line up in the 20th starting position for the 30-lap ‘A’ Main Event.

From the back of the pack, Madsen would get racing with drivers around him and was never able to mount a serious charge forward. Battling with the likes of Joey Saldana and Jacob Allen late in the event, Madsen would finish 16th.

“With the weekend behind us, now we look forward to a three-race weekend ahead and try and do better,” Madsen noted.

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Team Kline Electric, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, TammyHeckart.com, Caliber Iowa, Quality Traffic Control, Flatrate, Inc., Speck USA, Bergen Paulsen, Coverage Direct, Finer Cuts Lawn and Landscape, Lucas Oil, and Revolution Race Gear for their support this season.
