Last Saturday night the opening practice night of the season at the Valvoline Raceway in Sydney proved to be a successful one for Young (NSW) based racer Jackson Delamont. In his second session of the night Jackson drove his Mad Harry’s Steel #48 Maxim to a lap of 11.782 seconds, a time that ended the night as the fastest lap, with Kyle Caunt being the only other driver to dip into the 11 second bracket.

Shortly after the practice session Sprintcarworld (SCW Media) caught up with Jackson exclusively and he couldn’t have been happier with the way the season kicked off.

“We basically just started with the same gear that we finished last season, with which consists of a Maxim chassis / KRE Race Engine / Vortex Wings and Slade Shocks. In our last session we tried some new front shocks that Eric Slade built for me in the off season and they worked really nice. I must also add the track surface was really neat” added Jackson.

“I actually felt really great in the car it was actually the quickest I'd ever been around Sydney at 11.7”.

The Valvoline Raceway season will get underway on October 1 with the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship, USC NSW Round 1 incorporating the Brian Healey Cup.
