Ian Madsen Puts Together Strong Weekend at Badlands

Coming off of a very strong performance during the Jackson Nationals in both the 360 and 410 division, Ian Madsen and his KCP Racing team backed it up with another strong run with each engine at the Badlands Motor Speedway where they earned second and fifth place finishes.

“It was another outstanding weekend for our team,” Ian Madsen said. “We have been fast in both cars the last few weeks, they are really a pleasure to drive.”

Saturday night during the 410ci program at the Badlands Motor Speedway, Madsen would time the Logan Contractors Supply/Aspen Aire/Kline Electric No. 18 machine in second fastest in time trials before finishing third in his heat race.

The 25-lap feature event would see Madsen quickly work his way into the third spot as he began pressuring Tim Kaeding, who ran just ahead of him in the second spot. Taking advantage of Kaeding’s miscue on the 15th lap, Madsen would take over the second spot as he chased after Logan Forler.

Having a shot for the win on a pair of late restarts, Madsen was unable to get by and would take the checkered flag with a second place finish, marking his 34th Top-Five finish of the season.

Returning to the speedway on Sunday night for a night of 360ci action, Madsen would pick up a third place finish in his heat race, and find himself in the fifth row for the 20-lap feature event.

With not many laps to get going, Madsen would act fast, as he worked his way forward. The race would seemingly click off laps at the blink of an eye, and when the checkered flag flew Madsen had made it up to finish in the fifth spot.

“These podium finishes and Top-Five’s are great, but we are out here to win so we will keep working and try to get better,” Madsen said.

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Team Kline Electric, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, TammyHeckart.com, Caliber Iowa, Quality Traffic Control, Flatrate, Inc., Speck USA, Bergen Paulsen, Coverage Direct, Finer Cuts Lawn and Landscape, Lucas Oil, and Revolution Race Gear for their support this season.
