There are major changes happening in South Australian speedway

On July 1st 2016, after 20 seasons of speedway racing, Bob Sincock and Wendy Turner will be handing over the reins of Speedway City to MGE Promotions. South Australia’s Premier Speedway will be re-named Adelaide Motor Sport Park “The Home of Adelaide Speedway”.

MGE Promotions has an experienced management team with many years of experience in Speedway Management and promotion and a wealth of experience in both domestic and International business.

The new management team at Adelaide Motor Sport Park will be headed by Managing Director Bill Miller, General Manager Tony Parkinson and Track Manager Robbie Sincock. They will be supported by Chairman Stan Miller and an experienced board with many years of experience in motor racing and business management. The management at MGE are also excited to have Sel Harley OAM as patron and as a lot of speedway fans will be aware, Sel was the driving force behind the construction of the speedway complex.

The management of MGE wish to take this opportunity to sincerely thank both Bob Sincock and Wendy Turner for this opportunity and I’m sure we talk for all speedway fans in South Australia in thanking them for their dedication and great support of speedway racing in the state over many years.

We look forward to a close working relationship with them in the future to grow the sport of Speedway in South Australia and beyond.
It is going to be exciting times with plans to develop the park with a range of motor sport services and facilities. In addition to the conduct of speedway meetings there will be planned activities including driver training, safety training, burn out events, dirt go-kart racing, motor cross events, monster trucks, Stadium off road racing, Tuning events and ride days.

The mission of Adelaide Motorsport Park is to be Australia’s leading speedway venue providing value for money family entertainment. More details will be released as plans are finalised and the new web site has been launched. Importantly Adelaide Motor Sport Park will be a family entertainment venue, catering facilities will be refurbished, and electronic card purchasing introduced. A Big Screen will be installed at the track for all events with a new sound system that will provide a club type atmosphere.

MGE Promotions recognises the work and support that previous administrations and club members have contributed over the years and in recognition all former life members of the Racing Drivers Association of South Australia will be granted season memberships to Adelaide Motor Sports Park.

Race dates for all categories will being confirmed shortly with a commitment to all of the classes that have raced previously at the venue. The dates will be released after we meet with the various Association delegates.

However, dates planned for the 2016/2017 season include;
• Opening night 5 Nov 2016, Sprintcar Master
• 26 Dec 2017, World Series Sprintcars
• 3 Feb 2017, World Series Sprintcars
• 18 Mar 2017, Triple Crown with Sprintcars, Speedcars and Super Sedans
• 8 Apr 2017, Lord Mayors Cup for Sprintcars
• 16 Apr 2017, Demolition Derby and Fireworks
• It should be noted that there will be a number of Friday night race meetings during the season.

For season 2017/2018, Adelaide Motorsport Park has already secured the 2018 Australian 360 Sprintcar Championship.

In the words of Managing Director Bill Miller, “we are going to have fun” and we welcome all speedway fans to come to Adelaide Motorsport Park for an enjoyable experience at a family friendly entertainment venue.
A new web site is being developed and will be released end of July 2016.
