After finishing an impressive fourth in round 3 of the USC QLD the following round didn’t go to plan for Andrew Wright at the Hi-Tec Toowoomba Speedway last weekend (November 21) as his night ended, like many others, on the infield. Going into the A-Main Wright was enjoying a pretty good night in his Hitachi Machinery Australia #N78 but his run in the final, which was conducted in extremely windy conditions, didn’t last long as he was involved in a turn four incident on lap seven.

The night started off in great fashion as he qualified second in Time Trials with a lap of 12.355 before finishing second in his opening heat after starting off the front row. With the fastest cars coming from the back in the second round Andrew started from position eight and he held onto that position throughout the heat as the track proved to be hard to pass on.

Despite being unable to move forward in his second heat Andrew still managed to qualify fourth for the Pole Shuffle where he was defeated by Robbie Farr, therefore he started the feature event from positon five. As stated earlier his A-main run was cut short on lap seven as he was involved in a racing accident ending what had been a competitive night.

“You could definitely feel the wind acting on the car,” said Andrew from the infield, “Those were difficult conditions for sure. Some of the toughest I’ve ever driven in”.

This Saturday night Andrew Wright will return to his home track in Sydney for what will be the first of three consecutive weekends of racing at the Valvoline Raceway.
