The Mad Man’ Fourth at Lebanon Valley Speedway

Spending the weekend on the East Coast, Kerry Madsen and his Keneric Racing/American Racing team put a tough weekend at the Williams Grove Speedway behind them as they finished in the fourth spot and set a new track record at the Lebanon Valley Speedway on Sunday night.

“The Summer Nationals at Williams Grove were a bit of a disaster for us, so it was really nice to put a strong run together on Sunday night at the Lebanon Valley Speedway,” Kerry Madsen said.

Following finishes of 23rd and 12th place during the Summer Nationals, things got off to a great start for Madsen on Sunday night, as he set an untouchable bar during time trials, and broke the track’s two-year old single lap track record in doing so.

Starting his heat race from the second row, Madsen showed very good speed during the eight-lap warm up race as he worked forward to finish in the second position and solidify a spot in the Dash for his American Racing Custom Wheels/Keneric Racing backed No. 29 machine.

Lining up for the 25-lap feature event in the second row of the feature event by way of his third place effort in the Dash, Madsen would find himself in a struggle with Joey Saldana during much of the race, as he looked to get his American Racing/Morrison Racing Engines powered No. 29 machine on the podium.

Though passing was at a premium on this night, Madsen was relentless in his efforts as he tried numerous times to get by Saldana, but nothing would give as he closed out his week with a fourth place finish.

“We had great speed on Sunday night, but it was just tough to pass,” Madsen added. “We had a very strong car, and I think we showed that by how hard we pressed in the feature. I really have to thank the Keneric Family, everyone at American Racing, and my guys for continuing to support this team and work hard.”
