Preparing for a busy Speedweek that starts tonight with the NSL, Ian Madsen and his KCP Racing team put their own SPeedweek together last week and did well as Madsen picked up two wins with the Jackson Speedway Touring Series, and a pair of Top-Five’s at the Knoxville Raceway.

“We are getting hot at the right time of the year, and I cannot thank my guys enough for the effort they have been putting forth,” Ian Madsen said.

Taking to the Jackson Speedway in Jackson, MN on Thursday night, Madsen would race his Nehring Construction/Team Kline Electric/Logan Contractors Supply Inc. No. 18 machine to a heat race win from his second row starting position.

Lining up on the pole for the 20-lap A main event, Madsen would settle into the second spot as he chased after the early leader, Skylar Prochaska. Battling in lapped traffic, Madsen would surge to the lead just past the halfway point, only to see the caution fly and negate his pass.

The ensuing restart would see Madsen dive to the low side of the speedway and take over the race lead as the caution again flew on the 13th lap. When the action picked back up, Madsen was able to pull away as he picked up the win.

Returning to action with the JSTS on Friday night at the Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, MN, Madsen would charge from his sixth starting spot in his heat race to pick up the win and transfer into the A Main Redraw.

Pulling the one pill, Madsen would put the Greenland Homes of IA/Royal Flooring/Aspen Aire Inc. backed machine on the front row for the feature event as he looked for another JSTS win.

Slipping to the second spot in the first few laps, Madsen would forge his way into the lead on the third lap, and never look back. Feeling pressure form Scott Winters and Danny Lasoski at times, Madsen would stay in command and pick up the race win.

Heading to the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night for double-duty action, Madsen would get both cars timed in 4th fastest.

Running sixth in the 360ci heat race, Madsen would line up in the fourth row for the 18-lap feature event. Showing great speed in the feature event, Madsen would work his way forward as he quickly worked into the Top-Five as he chased after Clint Garner.

Getting around both Dakota Hendrickson and Garner, Madsen overtook the third spot late in the race, and would go on to finish on the podium.

Finishing sixth in his 410ci heat race, Madsen would start in the fourth spot of the first feature event, and pick up a fifth place finish, before mechanical gremlins relegated him to an 11th place finish during the second feature event.

“Really pleased with how he ran all week long, and I hope we can run well during upcoming NSL Speedweek,” Madsen said. “I have to thank this entire team for everything they do.”

Ian and his KCP acing team would like to thank Nehring Construction, Team Kline Electric, Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Greenland Homes of Iowa, Royal Flooring, Aspen Aire Inc.
