Decorated Sprint car champions Donny Schatz and Terry Gray were victorious last weekend piloting J&J Auto Racing Sprint cars in California and Mississippi. Schatz earned his second World of Outlaws triumph of the season in the Tony Stewart Racing No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies J&J at the Stockton (California) Dirt Track, while Gray picked up his first Southern Outlaw Sprinters event at Hattiesburg Speedway.

WORLD OF OUTLAWS

Schatz, the six-time and reigning WoO champion, was the class of the field last Saturday night in the FVP Western Springs Shootout at the Stockton Dirt Track. The Fargo, North Dakota driver started the evening by setting a new track record at the 3/8-mile and then he finished second in the opening heat. After finishing third in the dash, Schatz started the main event in the second row and took the lead on lap 16. He pulled away during the next 12 laps, but a caution late resulted in a restart. Schatz out dueled Shane Stewart for the victory by beating him to the scoring loop.

Schatz finished ninth in Sunday's show and ranks second in the WoO championship standings.

Trey Starks qualified for both A-feature events behind the wheel of his family-owned No. 55 J&J.

SOUTHER OUTLAW SPRINTERS

Terry Gray raced his way to his first triumph of 2015 Saturday night as the Southern Outlaw Sprinters invaded Hattiesburg Speedway for the first time this season. Gray drove his familiar No. 10 J&J into the lead from the start and went on to come out victorious in the main event.

Shane Morgan raced his No. 01 J&J to a fifth-place finish.
