Motor Problem Sidelines Cowara Team
Author : Ken Brown

Cameron Gessner and the #41 Cowara Motorsport team entered the annual Krikke Boys Shootout at the Quit Bunbury Speedway full of confidence after their impressive recent performances.

The Saturday fixture started well with Gessner recording the sixth fastest time (out of 27 cars) in qualifying - his 13.618 second lap was a mere 0.128 of a second behind the winner.

However in his heat race Gessner suffered motor problems.

Back in the pits the team discussed the situation that they now found themselves in.

The format saw the teams only contest a single heat - and as they had not finished the race - the best they could accomplish was to contest the B Main.

So it was decided that they would pack up and watch the racing as the upcoming meeting at the Perth Motorplex (March 14) was their main priority.

The Westernapolis show at the Kwinana venue marks the final round of the AHG Sprintcar Series in which Gessner holds a 30 point lead in the point standings.

The team will work hard to get everything in order for that important showdown.

"It was very disappointing," said Cowara Motorsport team owner Steve Duggan, "As we were looking very good in the time trial.
"But as they say, that's motorsport."

The entire Cowara Motorsport team would like to congratulate the Krikke Motorsport team, and driver Brooke Tatnell, on their success in the Krikke Boys Shootout.

And all involved with the team are looking forward to a good showing at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday March 14.

The Cowara Motorsport Team wishes to acknowledge the support of their loyal sponsors who enable us to keep on racing.
