After spending two months racing over East in some of that region’s biggest events with his family owned race team South Aussie Ryan Jones returns to his commitments with the Schlam Racing Team next week.

Showing blistering car speed (a typical Jones trait) during WSS Speedweek, the Kings Challenge in Mt. Gambier and the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Warrnambool Ryan is keen to return to the #49 Schlam Engineering / Arcoplate J&J for a grueling campaign back in the West over the next month.

“We’ve got some epic nights of competition here over the next few weeks,” explains SRT principal Ryan Schlam, “we have multiple nights of World Series Sprintcars at Bunbury and the Perth Motorplex, plus the Australian Championship at Bunbury in between. We’ll have the country’s best drivers and teams to race against that’s for sure.”

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost two months since Ryan Jones piloted the #49 but it will be a ‘make up for time lost’ situation the minute he lands back in WA.

“We’ve been working hard on our shock (absorber) package and I think that will help us enormously,” explains Schlam, “Josh (Agrizzi) has spent the last few weeks with Ryan over east and so it won’t take them long to get on the same page back here.”

Not surprisingly Ryan Jones is keen to get his posterior back in the #49 seat.

“We’ve been fast over the last few weeks even if our results don’t show that,” the speedy South Aussie explains, “I’m really keen to get back into the SRT car and take on the best guys in the country at Perth and Bunbury.”

The first item on the agenda for the team is to visit The Perth Motorplex for practice next Wednesday.
