Returning to Valvoline Raceway full of confidence this Saturday night, January 31, Blake Skipper will be looking to go a number of spots better than his 16th place finish in the Scott Darley Challenge a fortnight ago.

After diagnosing problems that have hampered the team, it has been a complete 180 degree turnaround for the team, which has resulted in a renewed enthusiasm.

“This weekend really cannot come quick enough. I’ve been so excited and pumped up to get back on the track after the Darley meeting,” Blake said today.

“We would just really like to enjoy the rest of our season now that all the problems have been sorted out. Let’s just hope that the weather holds off and we can put another really solid showing in.”

Now out of contention for the Sprintcar Track Championship, it is about redemption and performance for the remainder of the season.

“The remaining rounds of the track championship will be as tough as the first few. My goal for the remainder of the season is to try and make every a main, we would like to crack the top 10 and I would really enjoy to be a part of a pole shuffle. But for the first night back this weekend we would just really like to make another feature and have a strong showing.

“The plan for the rest of our season hasn’t changed from the beginning. We just want to go out and attack each meeting as best as we can and be competitive. We just want to enjoy ourselves and fun and see if we can get better results in each of the remaining rounds. At the end of the day, enjoying ourselves is what it’s all about. For me and the crew.”
