Ready to tackle the USA’s best
Author : Jackson Delamont Motrosport

If there is one thing that Jackson Delamont can’t be caught out for, it is not being prepared.

After the washout at Valvoline Raceway back on December 6, Jackson had the car home, unloaded, checked over and loaded up again in plenty of time for this Friday’s Australian Grand Prix at Valvoline Raceway.

“We like to be ready nice an early so we have the best possible lead-up to the event,” Jackson said today.

“We have had a relaxed build up, just putting the spare car together which we will be bringing with us to Sydney. Hopefully we won’t need to use it, but we will be very prepared, should the need arise.”

The Boxing Night event heralds the traditional beginning of the USA invasion and this season, Jackson will be racing against some of the world’s best including veteran Jac Haudenschild along with World of Outlaws star Brad Sweet and last year’s sensation Tim Kaeding. So is there any extra pressure for Jackson?

“No, not really; it’s more excitement than anything else. I don’t look at it like any added pressure, if anything, it will help me being more on my game to get the good results. It’s just a matter of getting everything right. We have Carl Trofa giving dad a hand setting our car up over the Christmas/New Year period and for the Classic in Warrnambool too. When Carl gives us a hand, we seem to go pretty good so we are hoping for the same starting on Boxing Night.”

On a lighter note, Jackson also has to wear Kelly Linigen’s race suit after Kelly defeated Jackson in time trials a number of weeks ago.

“Yeah, we had this bet going, I lost so I have to wear Kelly’s pink race suit for drivers meeting and qualifying. I can tell you though, if I set quick time in her suit, she isn’t getting it back,” Jackson laughed.

Boxing night begins a busy time for Jackson and the team. He will be basing himself at Valvoline Raceway for December 26, 27 and 30 along with January 1, 3, 5, 16 and 17 before taking in the big events in Victoria.
