Keen Racing Team out of Bunbury, Western Australia would like to announce third generation racer from Wooster, Ohio Sheldon Haudenschild will be coming to the West Coast this summer.

Haudenschild will make his Australian debut in the W90 Eagle machine powered by KRE Race Engines on December 26 at Perth Motorplex, then travel south to Quit Bunbury Speedway to race on December 27. Haudenschild will finish his Western Australian tour at the Sprintcar Muster on January 3 at Perth Motorplex.

“I’m definitely most excited to be fortunate enough to get to race in a new country, at new tracks and against new competition.” said Haudenschild.

A plan was put together with team owner, John Keen after Sheldon’s Mum, Patti Haudenschild contacted Keen Racing Team crew chief Allan Nash to see if he knew anyone who would be willing to give Sheldon a ride in their sprintcar in Australia.

“When we found out Sheldon was looking at coming down under we were very keen to sign him up and in no time our crew chief Allan Nash was on the phone to Sheldon to organise it all.” said John Keen.

Sheldon Haudenschild has spent the past five years racing around the US being named the 2009 Limaland Motorsports Park Rookie of the Year.

This year in 2014 he won the Allstar Circuit of Champions Race at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio. He also set the track record and won the IRA sprints feature at Angell Park Speed-way in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

John Keen said: “We are very excited to have Sheldon coming to WA to race for our team. We have met Sheldon and his Father Jac on both our trips to America.”

Haudenschild and Daniel Keen will form a two car team, with Allan Nash looking after both cars.

“We as a young team thought it would be a great learning curve having such a young experienced USA driver like Sheldon on board.”

Keen Racing Team would like to thank our sponsors; Keens Driver Training, Keenquip Racegear, Dynamite Dans Cleaning Service and Diesel Force.
