Powerful Field For Season Opener
Author : DTN Media

Following on from last season’s successes, the 360 Sprintcar Power Series is again returning this season and will kick off at Narrogin Speedway this coming Saturday night with a stellar field nominated.

Last year’s series winner Dean Terry has nominated and he will be pulling out all stops to ensure that he goes back to back as champion. Terry had a great time last season and dominated the awards, winning the overall feature points, as well as the Bonza Bradford trophy for most total points across the series. He will be hoping to repeat these efforts and would love nothing more than to start with a win in the opener.

WA State title holder Chris Ackland has also nominated, and after finishing in second place in last year’s series, he will be hoping to go one better this time around.

Aldo De Paioli was voted as the driver with the most potential last year and with the strong finish he had to last season, once would not be surprised to see him back that up and start with some more good results.

Jake Beard- Miller is another who is returning to the 360 division after some strong results last season, particularly at the Perth Motorplex. He, along with Shaun Bradford, Sean Zemunik and last year’s series third place getter Steven Ford will all be doing double duty this year and have nominated for the first round hit out for the Power Series.

Daniel Harding and Trent Pigdon are two other regular open drivers who have indicated they may run at Narrogin should everything fall into place for them over the next week.

Other series regulars who have thrown their hats in the ring for the opening round showdown at Narrogin include Terry Cutts, Steve Adley, Danny Atwood, Steve Treasure, Tim Gardner and Corey Hunter, who also took out the Encouragement Award for last season. All these drivers have supported the series regularly and would love to record some solid results in the opening round.

In some big news set to increase excitement, we also have some new drivers from other divisions, a visitor and some returning faces to further boost the field. Danny Porter from the Northern Territory has nominated, while regular open sprintcar competitor Kye Scroop has nominated in the Peter Harvey owned #83.

David Hall and Rob Watson Jnr have both been out of action for a number of seasons and will return this weekend to the seat, while former Wingless pilots
Jamie Buszan and Ben Van Ryt, as well as Limited Sprintcar driver Brett Barndon have all stepped up and nominated and it will be interesting to watch their progress as they get themselves sorted in their race cars.

Of course, we have a solid group of sponsors who have once again gotten behind the 360 Sprintcar Power Series, so a huge thankyou to Prestige Fibreglass Products, Keenquip Race Gear, Chamberlains Auto Electrics, Shanoweb and Dirt Track Nutters.

It is sure to be a huge night this weekend at Narrogin Speedway so make sure you get there early and secure a good spot!
