With the 2014/15 Sprintcar season fast approaching Jamie Hendry shook off the cob webs last weekend at a special Speedway Promotion at the Adelaide Showground’s venue held in conjunction with the Royal Adelaide Show. Not only was it a great opportunity to showcase the sport to a new demographic but it was a great chance to shake down the car and unveil a bold new look on the #42 Maxim.

“It was fantastic running at Wayville in conjunction with the 175th anniversary of the Royal Show. It allowed some great exposure for our valued sponsors to a different type of audience that may have been witnessing Sprintcars for the first time. It was a huge step for Speedway and I hope we get the opportunity to run a few meetings there in the near future. It has certainly been a goal of mine to run around this nostalgic venue which I can now say I have done” commented Jamie with great enthusiasm.

“Unfortunately we had a few bugs at Wayville. The car jumped out of gear in one session due to the lever cable being too short and we also rubbed a hole in the radiator but it was better to have these issues at a demonstration rather than a meeting” added Jamie.

In addition to the new look the #42 was supporting several new sponsors along with the loyal long time backers. “This year our new sponsors include Carisbrook Collision Repair Centre, Scotcher Race Fuels and Oils, Showtime Signs, Muzza, of Murray Muscle Therapy who is actually my new major sponsor and if course the inclusion of our new family owned business Hendry Concrete Solutions (HCS). I must also thank Horrible Haulage, Peter King Ceilings, Holden Design Engineering, Maxwill Motors for returning again this season”.

Due to prior commitments Jamie will be forced out the seat for the next couple of events but the Hendry Motorsports machine will still be seen in action as Jamie’s younger Brother Ben will get the opportunity to run the 360ci car at Murray Bridge on October 4 and again at the opening round of the State Series at Whyalla the following week (October 11).
