NEW ERA FOR SYDNEY SPEEDWAY BEGINS!

It’s official, the new owners and management of Valvoline Raceway in Granville (Sydney) are in the office and plans are rapidly underway to get the 2014/2015 season off to a spectacular start.

Management Team Steven Green and Jennifer Henriksen have been preparing for this day behind the scenes for weeks now in preparation for the hand over which now sees Queensland pipeline magnate (and East Coast Pipeline Robbie Farr team owner) Barry Waldron’s Madetoogo Promotions officially confirmed as the new circuit owner.

“It’s an exciting time,” says Green, “but the reality is that there’s no time to light candles on a cake or break open the champagne, we really don’t have much time to get everything ready for the season opener on October 4. There’s so much to do.”

Refurbishments to the iconic Speedway venue will come thick and fast in the days and weeks ahead with the team focusing on many additions and changes to existing facilities.

“There’s an enormous amount of work to be done, and the logistics are quite substantial but we’re quietly confident we can tick all the boxes,” Green admits, “we haven’t been sitting on our hands in the change over period so we’ve had plans in waiting for the time when we confirmed ownership. I think this will be one of the most significant seasons in Sydney Speedway’s long and proud history. It’s time to get Sydney back on the map in the world of Speedway and motortainment.”

Official practice is slated for Saturday night, September 20 with the first event of the season on Saturday, October 4.

A new website and a more concise synopsis of the schedule, the list of additions and improvements and much more will follow soon.
