Kyle Hirst Roughed Up At Placerville

Looking to rebound from a 12th place finish during the Howard Kaeding Classic, Kyle Hirst had a rough night at the Placerville Speedway that saw his night come to an end on the second lap.

“It was a rough night for sure,” Hirst said. “We had been pretty fortunate all year not to have many of those, but they do happen, and we will come back and hopefully win the Peter Murphy Classic,” Hirst said.

Timing in 10th fastest during time trials, Hirst would finish second in his heat race, and line up in the sixth row for the 30-lap feature event.

When the race got underway, chaos ensued on the second lap as a car got out of shape in front of Hirst exiting turn four, resulting in Hirst going through the infield to avoid him. As Hirst slid through the infield, he slid back on to the track, and made contact with another car, and the front end damage from it all ultimately ended his night on the second lap.

“This is one of those nights that we have already put behind us,” he said. “We will come back fighting in Tulare,CA.”

Kyle and his Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle, Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2013.
