DOUBLED UP NOW LOOKING FOR THE TRIPLE

Last Saturday night’s victory in the final night of the season at Sydney Speedway was the second in as many weekends for the East Coast Pipeline Racing team at the iconic Parramatta venue and was also the perfect platform to dive into this coming Easter weekend.

“It was a busy night,” recalls Robbie Farr looking back on Saturday night’s performance, “we had some good car speed but a flat tyre in our heat and a cut-throat qualifying system saw us start the Hi-Tec Oils Maxim from the ninth row of the grid for the main event. Believe me, that’s a fair way back.”

What made that #17 starting position even tougher was the fact that several Sydney Speedway ‘specialists’ were lined up on the first two rows.

“When we got the flat tyre it really prevented us from knowing too much about the set up and our car speed,” he continues, “so the boys (crew) did a great job to serve me up a car that was a real bullet in the feature. It made my job so much easier.”

Farr sped the #7 from near the rear to a resounding win, ending the team’s Sydney Speedway appearances for 13/14 on a real high, and setting them up for a strong showing in Queensland this coming weekend.

Three nights in three days over Easter at first Maryborough Speedway (Friday, April 18) then Archerfield Speedway (Saturday, April 19) and finally then the Toowoomba Speedbowl (Sunday, April 20) will be Farr’s focus – an event he has in fact won before and is keen to once more.

“It’s a fantastic weekend. We’re in good form, the boys have the car right on the money and the weather looks fantastic. I can’t wait.”
