Mitch Foster driver for Mitch Foster Motorsport recently sat down to talk about the season just completed with motorsport media representative DMT Media and shared his thoughts on the season gone and enthusiasm & excitement for the season that will begin this coming October and amongst topics Foster discussed his racing with ‘Hennessy Motorsport’ this season and his plans for 2012/13.

Leon Hennessy and Foster came to agreement prior to last season to compete at Avalon Raceway and Premier Speedway, Warrnambool in Hennessy’s car with Hennessy’s equipment and together some strong results against tough competition were recorded, especially in time trials.

Most impressive was a 5th in time trials at the World Series round at Warrnambool and then 11th amongst 80 race cars at the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at the same venue. Foster has Leon and his team to thank for set ups. “Leon has been around and has helped others he has a handle on things and all I had to do really was put myself in the seat and steer the car in the right direction without fear.”

An accomplishment both Hennessy and Foster are proud of is starting every A Main feature together at Warrnambool & Avalon and Foster would like to thank Leon for his support. “Leon is a top bloke and I enjoyed racing together with his team immensely. I learnt some new ways of doing things that I can try out in my own car and we had some fun together. I thank the Hennessy Motorsport team so very much for the opportunity and hope we can reach a deal again one day soon.”

Throughout the year Foster also hit the track in his own ‘BMC Welding & Construction’ supported Sprinter, where after heat results he was top of the charts on qualifying points at Western Speedway, Hamilton when the Sprintcar Racing Association visited, another new accomplishment Foster was proud of.

With planning already underway for the new season in October, Foster will be back behind the wheel of the # 4 race car at all Victorian Association rounds this season with a goal of finishing feature races in the top five on a regular basis and achieving some podium finishes with a new chassis at his disposal and a engine ready to roar.

Foster anticipates this will be tough however believes it is achievable. “We have shown ourselves to be strong and consistent over the last couple of years. This season we are putting a serious assault on the state series to see what we can achieve and we will be doing so with a new crew chief who will introduce to our fans before the season begins.”

Foster is currently working on securing some financial support that can assist him in achieving his goals whilst gaining some exposure through his racing. If the right support can be found, Foster would love to compete at the Victorian & Australian championships and the biggest event of them all the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, Australia Day weekend in Warrnambool.
