Fuchs Australian Sprintcar Championship - Monster Start!
Author : Paris Charles

media release (blog) and photo alert - good morning all, hope you all slept well? well what an opening night of the australian championship. despite the dry heat and wind the track team did a good job when you tally up all the pros and cons the event proved to be a great lead up to tonight's real deal!

69 drivers took to the track trying to get there championship quests off to the best start possible and for some it was a better than expected result while some others have their work cut out if they are to make the all important 40 laps main event tonight.

the heat racing was of a good standard and steven lines proved that he is a real contender having top point scored and also won the preliminary a-main. david murcott and ryan farrell finished in second and third.

the young tassie tigers shaun dobson and jamie bricknell have proved that the racing on the apple isle is red hot and these boys both finished fourth and fifth respectively.

garry brazier was again at his best talking the talk over the pa system but now its time for him to walk the walk and with 40 laps ahead he may just do it... its the braz and you can never count him out!

defending champ brooke tatnell looked to just go through the motions and former champs robbie farr and james mcfadden all did what they needed to do to make the prelim while philip march and max dumensy have some work to do but they are not too far from making the show... don't discount these two experienced chargers.

a part from lines only three south aussies made the most of their home track knowledge to make the prelim event, matt egel, dylan jenkin and ricky maiolo flew the flag proudly.

i expect the sro signs (standing room only) to be out early tomorrow at the venue so make sure you get there as early as you can if you do not have reserved seating... see ya track side!
