My Thoughts... Australia V America - The Prelude
Author : Paris Charles

quick status... well what a night... where do we start?

lets go from the finish and work our way back!
the yanks won and the cream rose to the top jason johnson, ryan farrell, brooke tatnell and co all up the front.

awesome feature event cars could race all over the track, speedway city has not had a track where cars could run the feature event 2 inches from the wall for a long time

well i must admit that the format was strange and i didn't understand it, that's only because it was new to me and probably many others also. but you know what it sure got my attention and hey variety is the spice of life!

so what did last night tell me?
brent aprile set the cat among the pigeons, many people got to see this kid take it to the best and now people will be watching him closely next weekend

brooke tatnell, ryan farrell, steven lines and robbie farr are all zeroing in on the number 1 but don't discount kerry madsen his drive in last nights feature was awesome!

some locals guys put in a stout performance, philip march has been dogged with some bad luck in recent times but his drive last night suggests he is going to be there a bouts. young gun daniel pestka was the best of the locals, jamie cobby, trevor green, brad keller and steven caruso also made the feature.

some drivers who carried good car speed but just missed out and or were very unlucky last night worthy of a mention are jeremy cross, ricky maiolo and leith ahlfors. the brady brothers (nathan and sheldon) continue their steep learning curve at speedway city. i hope some good results are only just around the corner?

the shape of the track was awesome and many of the 'armchair experts' may have noticed that the clay was darker in colour than normal, this was because the track staff had turned the entire amount clay over so the top stuff went to the bottom and the bottom to the top.

four american drivers taking on the best of the aussies and the car count was high in number and quality.

the 7 street stocks did their job to the letter and in one instance they run 2 heat races back to back, just changing directions. well done boys, great job.

all of the above was excellent when you remember how hot the days have been in lead up to this event.

upon arrival i was very impressed as the venue looked the best i have ever seen it under the bob sincock / wendy turner management. the event was well promoted in lead up and the crowd was fair to good for a mid week show. people only have so much money to spend.

i have now gone full circle and here we are back to here and now, which is the below.
