SPRINTCARS HEADLINE CASTROL LISMORE SPEEDWAY, NOVEMBER 18
Author : Dennis Newlyn
There will be a HOEDOWN AT THE SHOWGROUND Saturday night November 18 when 410 Sprintcars are let loose on the Castrol Lismore Speedway bull ring.
Some of the best drivers on the Australian east coast have entered and the car count comprising 30 nominations is not only very impressive, but also represents one of the highest for Sprintcars in many years at the historic Northern Rivers NSW showground circuit.
Promoters Mick and Kim Sauer, who are into their second Lismore season as venue operators, are delighted with the line-up of talent for this coming weekend chasing honours in the $5,000-to-win 25-lap main event.
“We are so excited,” Kim enthused.
“We have some very talented drivers who will converge on Lismore for what promises to be a great night of Sprintcar racing. We have received entries from Tasmania, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. The tight confines of the showground will ensure some close and exciting racing as it always does when Sprintcars come to town.”
Sydney stars Jessie Attard, Lachlan Caunt and Daniel Sayre continue their northern campaign and head to Lismore fresh from competing at the Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway. Another prominent Sydneysider campaigning in the region who has enjoyed plenty of Sprintcar success is Sam Walsh. He is again ready for Lismore where he has run strongly in the past.
One driver who emerges as a pre-race favourite is Jai Stephenson who knows what it takes to win at the circular Lismore Showground Speedway. He has put together impressive winning performances at the venue over the years. He is a NSW V8 Dirt Modified Champion and Mr Modified Series winner amongst other notable honours, and has been ultra competitive in a Sprintcar in recent seasons.
Interest also surrounds young Tyler Burnam who has done plenty of laps around Castrol Lismore Speedway in a Junior Sedan before making the move into Sprintcar competition. Dylan Menz, a man well versed also in Speedcar racing who narrowly missed victory in the prestigious Australian Speedcar Grand Prix, returns to Lismore, this time in his Menz Motorsport 410 Sprintcar.
Libby Ellis also is amongst the Sprintcar nominations, while another Queenslander ready to hit the Lismore high line is the highly experienced Brodie Tulloch.
It all adds up to a wonderful night of Sprintcar competition as the headline attraction this coming weekend, (November 18).
