Hendry Collects Second Consecutive Podium
Author : Phil Michell Motorsport Media
For the second consecutive round of the SA 360ci Sprintcar Series Jamie Hendry drove his Hendry Concrete Solutions #42 Maxim to a podium result as he claimed third place in the Lord Mayors Cup at Speedway City. In what was a great result Hendry actually elected to start the 25 lap finale from the back of the field after his car had suffered from a misfire all evening, a problem that has unfortunately plagued the team all season.
“We really still can’t pin point the problem. It is either a fuel issue or its electrical. We elected to start at the back so we wouldn’t get in anyone’s way. During the race we just battled our way and found our way up there.
When the track is hooked up it really plays up as it doesn’t have the power but as the track gets slick it seems to be ok as the power is not as critical. Luckily the track went slick in the final and it played into our hands” added Jamie after the final event.
Jamie’s third placed result in the City of Playford 360ci Lord Mayors Cup was actually his fourth podium result in the events eight year history having won the inaugural race in 2008 along with finishing third in 2013 and second in 2014.
With only two rounds remaining in the SA 360ci Sprintcar Series Jamie has now fought his way into eighth placed in points Championship despite missing two of the five completed rounds. The series will continue this Saturday night with Jamie set to compete at the Murray Bridge Speedway along with a field of 12 other drivers.
So if you are heading to Murray Bridge this Saturday night don’t forget to come down into the pit area and have a chat with one of the most likable Sprintcar drivers in the paddock and while you are there you can check out the recently released special souvenir edition Gator Wing panel that will be on sale.
