Positive signs for Skipper
Author : Blake Skipper Racing Media
Last Saturday night at Valvoline Raceway on paper didn’t look overly spectacular for Blake Skipper, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
The troubles that have hampered Blake from the start of the season have been erased and now he is looking forward with a tremendous amount of optimism.
Back to last Saturday, although not having the best time trial, Blake says he can definitely see the improvement.
“My night was alright. It got away to a poor start with a bad qualifying session, caused by myself, but the night got better as it went on. The car was nice to drive and it felt very racy.”
Blake had to try and race his way in the hard way, after not transferring from his heat, he was relegated to the C-Main. Although he didn’t advance, the signs are all pointing towards a very positive outlook.
“Now that I know all the dramas are behind us I am positive that we are moving in the right direction to get the season back on track and get some more racing laps in. Saturday week cannot come quick enough for us. I am extremely keen to get back out there.”
Blake has another weekend off due to no racing in Sydney, however, he is not resting on his laurels, in fact, the total opposite.
“We will be working hard to ensure we reach the level we are capable of. It won’t happen straight away, it’s a long road, but finally we are moving in the right direction.
“We are going to give the car a normal maintenance week but I will also enjoy having some time off of an afternoon to do my own thing. I'm sure though, I will get bored and wish we were racing this weekend,” Blake grinned.
The next time Blake hits the track will be Saturday, November 8 at Valvoline Raceway.
As always, Blake would like to thank all the sponsors for their support of the 2014/15 racing season.
